Walkthrough

Sell Fries walkthrough: from your first sale to the basement

A run is a loop, not a level: peel, fry, serve, buy, survive the night, repeat until the key turns up in the pile. Most runs never reach the basement: of the players who hold the Welcome! badge, only about 5.3% also hold Win. The route below is written to remove the two things that end runs โ€” wasted cash and being outside after dark.

Read from Roblox's badge API on 2026-10-18. These are badge awards, not visits; the share is awarded Win (or Hard Mode) รท awarded Welcome!. Roblox's own badge win-rate field reads 12.5% and 0.8%, but its denominator is not published, so this table does not use that number as a player share.

First shift

The four steps that pay you

Diagram of the four Sell Fries stations: potato pile, peeling station, fryer and drive-thru window, in order
The four stations of a shift. Every one of them can be automated, which is what the upgrade route below is for.
  1. 1

Take a potato from the pile

The pile sits outside by the road. You carry what you pick up, so the first trips are one potato at a time.

  2. 2

Peel it at the peeling station

Stay on the station until the skin is fully off; a half-peeled potato does not cook.

  3. 3

Fry it and collect the fries

Load the fryer, wait for the batch, then collect the finished fries. On PC the interaction prompt is E unless your device shows otherwise.

  4. 4

    Serve the drive-thru window

Hand the fries to the car before it gives up and leaves. Early cars pay roughly $20 to $40.

The shop opens at 8:00 AM and night starts at 8:00 PM. Surviving a night gives you a free perk choice in the morning, so there is no reason to skip one.

Days

What to buy, day by day

Day 1

Conveyor ($60), cheap peeler levels

The conveyor is the rail every later machine uses.

Day 1โ€“2

Auto peeler ($500)

The first purchase that deletes a job instead of speeding it up.

Day 2โ€“3

Potato robots ($1,000), vacuum (about $1,000)

Hauling is the biggest time sink, and robots keep hauling at night when you cannot go outside.

Day 3โ€“4

Auto fryer ($6,000)

Frying stops needing you, so the window becomes your only job.

Day 4

Fry shooter ($12,000)

Serves cars you cannot reach in time, which protects a batch while you are hauling.

Day 5

Cash boost, robot speed and basket, more helpers

Now you are multiplying a line that already runs itself.

The exact day depends on how much of the pile you move; the order of purchases is what matters. Prices and the reasoning behind each step are on the upgrades page.

Night

Surviving 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM

Four-item night checklist: be inside before 8 PM, shutter control within reach, a Cross in the inventory, robots moving the pile
The four checks that decide whether a night ends your run. Each item is explained in the anomalies page.

Stay in the kitchen

The single biggest cause of lost runs is being outside when the screen darkens. If you have robots, let them haul after dark; if you do not, stock the kitchen before 8:00 PM so you have no reason to leave.

Look at the driver

A backwards head, a zombie face or a flat silhouette means it is not a customer. Close the shutter with the control left of the window instead of serving it.

Every threat, its tell and its counter are catalogued on the anomalies page. A Cross from the shop saves you from one death โ€” carry one on the nights you plan to be outside.

The key

Finding it and escaping

Route diagram from the potato pile through the peeler, fryer and service window to the locked basement entrance
Where the run ends: players call it the Golden Key; it comes out of the potato pile and opens the basement entrance inside the shop.

Where: Inside the potato pile. The key turns up in the potatoes you are moving, and at least one recorded run had a customer hand it back through the shutter.

What it opens: The key opens the locked basement entrance inside the shop. Going down is the escape โ€” the Win badge and gems follow.

Recorded runs found the key on day 6 or 7; run length varies.

Solo

You cook, serve and close the shutter alone, so robots come before the auto fryer: they keep potatoes moving while you cannot leave the kitchen.

With a team

Split the jobs โ€” one at the window, one on the fryer, everyone else hauling. A server holds up to 16 players.

Hard Mode

What changes

  • The Giant becomes part of the night rotation, reported from night 2.
  • Survival matters more than income, which is why fast classes and the shutter matter earlier.

Hard Mode is a genuinely different night: 44,606 escapes out of 814,765 total wins, per the official badges.

Stuck?

The six problems that stop most runs

โ€บThe potato will not peel

Keep interacting with the station; partial peels do not progress. If it still will not finish, drop the potato and pick a new one.

โ€บI keep dying outside at night

Stop going out after 8:00 PM. Robots and a bigger vacuum exist so the pile can move while you stay in the kitchen.

โ€บA customer is waiting and my fries are not done

Serve what you have rather than nothing: an empty-handed window wastes the car. A Fry Shooter removes this problem entirely.

โ€บThe shutter will not close

The control is the red/orange button immediately left of the service window. If it is not responding, you may be outside the interaction range โ€” step toward the window.

โ€บI cannot find the key

Keep the pile moving. The key is in the potatoes, so the faster the pile shrinks the sooner it appears; the flamethrower and money potion shorten that grind.

โ€บMy class feels useless

Common classes stop mattering once the kitchen is automated. Save gems for a reroll after you can survive nights consistently.
